I teach kindergarten at Sidwell Friends School in Washington, DC, which is a Quaker PK-12 school. Quaker schools value the importance of social justice and taking action - exploring ideas of equity, curiosity, kindness, peace, community, stewardship. Teaching and learning within that context has become one of my favorite "things!" I love to see students let their lives speak!
